How to get pierced

What are the requirements for piercing minors?

Ages 6 months – 12 years: We will perform ear lobe piercings only. For children between the ages of 6 months and 2 years, we need two adults present for the piercing. The child’s birth certificate is required, and the last name on the certificate must match the photo ID of the parent or legal guardian accompanying them.

Ages 13 – 15 years: We will perform ear lobe and basic ear cartilage piercings (see detailed ID requirements below).

Ages 16 – 18: We will perform most facial and body piercings with parental consent (see detailed ID requirements below). We will not perform nipple or genital piercings, nor advanced ear projects such as industrials.

ID requirements:
You must bring a photo ID (such as a driver’s license, state issued ID card, passport, or school ID). If you only have a school ID, a birth certificate is also required.

A parent or legal guardian must accompany you, and they must bring their photo ID too. Your last names or your home addresses on the IDs must match. If for whatever reason the adult has a different last name/address than you do, we need some sort of paperwork that proves that they are your parent or legal guardian.

Do I need an appointment to get pierced?

Not necessarily! You are welcome to try your luck as a walk-in but please keep in mind that there may be a wait. You can book an appointment on the front page of our website.

All walk-ins are on a first come/first served basis. Bound has a piercer available seven days a week, open to close. If you would like to see a certain piercer, please call the shop to confirm their availability.

Does your shop apply tooth gems?

Yes, we have a skilled technician who will apply semi-permanent gems to your teeth. You should come to the shop with already brushed, flossed, and rinsed teeth. The cleaner the teeth, the better the adhesion. Book with Tiffany through her page.

Do you accept credit cards for piercings?

We take all major credit cards and cash for our piercing services. Don’t forget to tip your piercer through cash or Venmo!

How much do piercings cost?

Standard piercings are $37/hole plus the cost of jewelry. If you get more than two holes at a time, the price is reduced to $30/hole plus the cost of jewelry.

Earlobe piercings start at $20 each and go up to $35/hole depending on age, not including the cost of jewelry. Jewelry prices vary based on style, size, and material.

Microdermal anchors are $90 for one dermal (including jewelry). Two nipple piercings with barbells cost $110 (including jewelry). Genital piercings are $70/hole not including the cost of jewelry, which varies depending on what you want.

Do you have gold jewelry?

Yes, Bound has an immense selection of jewelry in various precious metals, precious stones, wood, shell, bone and glass. Gold jewelry is all 14k to 24k and the cost depends on the piece. To see our full selection, please come and browse our jewelry.

Piercing Aftercare Guide

How do I clean my new piercing?

Be sure to always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your piercing. Soak a clean Q-tip with warm salt water (1/4 tsp. for every 8 oz cup) and gently wipe away any “crusties” that have gathered around the piercing. Rinse the piercing and jewelry several times with warm water to remove any salt left behind. Dry your piercing with a clean Q-tip. Avoid any unnecessary touching. Cloth towels, especially ones that have already been used, can harbor germs and bacteria. It is safest to use a clean paper towel. If you have to use a fabric cloth or towel, make sure it has been freshly laundered.

What should I not use on my new piercing?

• Hydrogen peroxide
• Rubbing alcohol
• Glyoxide
• Ear care solution
• Antibiotic ointments
• Harsh soaps

If you have any questions regarding what you can or can’t use on a new piercing, please contact the shop.

Piercing soaking tips:

To aid in healing a new piercing, sea salt soaks once a day should be sufficient. If your piercing is irritated or dried out, soak your piercing once every other day. Follow these guidelines for soaking piercings (especially oral piercings):

Only use pure sea salt. Table salt, kosher salt, Epsom salts, and iodized sea salts are not acceptable. If you are not sure about the solution strength, put some on your finger and taste it. It shouldn’t be any saltier than a potato chip. If your piercing becomes irritated as a result of sea salt soaks, you are probably using either the wrong kind of salt or have made your solution too strong.

We guarantee all of our piercings. If you have any concerns, please come into the shop and consult with our piercers.
